Historie rediger
Samfunnet ble opprinnelig kalt Kinderhook, men tok navnet Howard da jernbanen kom til stedet.[4] Et postkontor kalt Howard har vært i drift siden 1872.[5]

East Knox High School befinner seg i Howard. Den ligger langs U.S. Route 36.[6] The Kokosing Gap Trail går igjennom Howard, Ohio.[7]
