Utseende rediger
Stort sett middelsstore, avlange bladbiller, matt brunlige og fint hårete, kroppen for det meste kledt med lyse skjell. Antennene er tynne, leddene rundede, beina nokså kraftige. Pronotum er noe smalere enn dekkvingene. Hunnen er vanligvis større og kraftigere enn hannen.
Levevis rediger
Både larvene og de voksne (imago) er planteetere. I alle fall noen av artene er mest aktive om natten.
Utbredelse rediger
Slekten er utbredt i den Nye verden: Nord-, Mellom- og Sør-Amerika.
