Michael Mosley (1957–2024) var en britisk radio- og TV-programleder og ‑produsent.

Mosley studerte medisin ved Royal Free Hospital Medical School og tenkte å bli psykiater, men ombestemte seg etter praksisplass i løpet av studiene.[3] Etter å ha blitt uteksaminert som lege begynte han i stedet på en trainee-ordning som produksjonsassistent BBC i 1985,[3] han fortsatte hos BBC frem til sin død.

Han jobbet bak kamera som produsent av vitenskapelige program, som blant annet The Human Face og Inventions That Changed the World. Debuten foran kamera med serien Medical Mavericks kom i stand da han ikke fant en passende programleder og tilbød seg å gjøre det selv.[4] Deretter ble han programleder for en rekke TV-program fortsatt av vitenskapelig karakter, deriblant The Story of Science, The Genius of Invention og Trust Me, I'm a Doctor, hvor sistnevnte gikk over ni sesonger fra 2013.
Priser og utmerkelser
redigerMosleys Horizon-dokumentar «Ulcer Wars» fra 1994 rapporterte koblinger mellom Helicobacter pylori og magesår, oppdaget i 1983 av de australske forskerne Robin Warren og Barry Marshall.[5][6] Han ble i 1995 kåret til årets medisinske journalist av British Medical Association.[3][7] I 1996 ble programmet kjent som en av de viktigste faktorene for å påvirke britiske allmennlegers forskrivningsvaner.[8][9]
I 2002 ble han nominert til Emmy som utøvende produsent for The Human Face med John Cleese.[10] I 2017 ble Mosley tildelt en æresdoktorgrad i vitenskap av University of Edinburgh.[11]
