Jødespansk

Jødespansk språk er en samleterm for språkformer av spansk med mer eller mindre påvirkning fra andre iberiske språk som portugisisk, asturiansk og katalansk som tradisjonelt blir brukt av sefardiske jøder i Nord-Afrika, på Balkan, i Tyrkia og i Israel.

Jødespansk inneholder mange hebraiske og arameiske ord og en del arabiske ord. I østlig jødespansk — det vil si på Balkan, i Tyrkia og i Israel — er det i tillegg mange tyrkiske og greske lånord.

Andre navn for jødepansk inkluderer djudíospanyol, djudezmo, spanyol, jaquitía/haketia (særlig i Marokko) og siden midten av 1900-tallet ofte også ladino — en term som tradisjonelt har en annen betydning.

Språklige særtrekk for jødespansk varierer mye mellom de ulike dialektene, men blant de mest typiske kan nevnes:

  • M for N i ord som muestro/nuestro («vår» (pron.)); mueve/nueve («ni» (num.)).
  • G for H i ord som agora («nå», sp. ahora).
  • -U for -O i endelser: anyu/anyo («år», sp. año); 'sinku/sinko («fem», sp. cinco).
  • Bevart stemt S mellom vokaler: kaza («hus», sp. casa).

Jødespansk har tradisjonelt blitt skrevet med det hebraiske alfabetet, men fra først på 1900-tallet har det vært vanlig å skrive språket med det latinske alfabetet.

Når jødespansk eller spansk brukes til ordrette oversettelser av liturgiske tekster fra hebraisk og arameisk, kaller en tradisjonelt resultatet ladino — s.d.
