Fox var en TV-kanal eid av Fox International Channels. I 2019 kjøpte Disney-konsernet opp 21st Century Fox, og dette førte til at Disney gradvis avviklet Fox som merkenavn.^[1]^[2]

Kanalen eksisterte i egne versjoner i mange land, blant dem Italia, Japan, Bulgaria, India og Spania. Sendingene i India og Sri Lanka var felles for hele Asia.^[3] I 2021 ble Fox-kanalene i Asia lagt ned.^[4]

Den norske utgaven av Fox ble lansert i 2011.^[5] I 2012 fulgte Russland. Kanalen startet sine sendinger i Italia i 2005. Den sender i all hovedsak kriminal-serier, men også noe film. Den eies av Fox International Channels, som igjen eies av det amerikanske mediekonsernet Fox Entertainment Group.

Noen av seriene som Fox har vist er The Walking Dead, The Glades, The Bridge, Warehouse 13, American Horror Story og Sopranos.

Norge rediger

Den norske utgaven av Fox ble lansert 21. mars 2011, og var kun å se hos Riks-TV og Altibox de første ukene. Men fra 28. april 2011 ble kanalen også tilgjengelig hos parabolkundene til Canal Digital. Kanalen ble lagt ned i Norge 31. mars 2021.^[6]

Åse Ytreland ble i 2010 ansatt til å lede den norske og nordiske avdelingen og hadde i tillegg oppsyn med Baltikum.^[5] Hun sluttet i stillingen i 2016.^[7]
