Absalom Sydenstricker
Absalom Sydenstricker (født 13. august 1852, død 31. august 1931) var en amerikansk presbyteriansk kinamisjonær fra 1887 til 1931.[2]

Han ankom med sin hustru Caroline til Hangzhou i 1887 og dro sammen med misjonæren til et misjonsfelt nord i provinsen Jiangsu. Der var han med på åpne misjonsstasjoner i Suqian (i 1893), Xuzhou (i 1896) og Huai'an (1904). Senere virket han i Zhenjiang, Nanjing og i provinsen Jiangxi. ,
Hans datter, Pearl S. Buck, ble en kjent forfatterinne. Hennes bok Fighting Angel forteller om Absaloms liv og virke, slik Pearl så det.[3] Han vokste opp i Hillsboro i Vest-Virginia.
