UCI WorldTour 2015

UCI WorldTour 2015 var den femte utgaven av UCI WorldTour. Den inneholdt 27 endags- og etapperitt i Europa, Australia og Canada. Tour of Beijing er fra 2015 lagt ned og dermed ikke med i UCI World Tour.[1]

I januar 2015 publiserte UCI nye rankingregler, der WorldTour-rankingen for syklister eller nasjoner skulle erstattes av UCI World Classification.[2][3] Kort tid senere ble disse endringene omgjort etter protester fra lagene.[4]

UCI WorldTeam rediger

Lagene som er registrert som WorldTeam har rett og plikt til å delta i alle WorldTour-ritt. 17 lag fikk tildelt WorldTeam-lisens for 2015-sesongen. Alle som hadde WorldTeam-lisens i 2014 fikk fornyet lisens, med unntak av Europcar.[5] Astana sto også lenge i fare for å bli fratatt lisensen på grunn av flere forhold, blant annet flere dopingsaker.[6][7][8] Først 23. april 2015 ble det klart at Astana likevel fikk beholde lisensen, på betingelse av at laget ble underlagt streng kontroll[9][10]

Det gis poeng for sammenlagtplassering og plassering på enkeltetapper. Lagene og nasjonene rangeres basert på poengene til deres fem beste ryttere. Kun ryttere på WorldTour-nivå kan ta poeng. For Norges del gjelder dette seks ryttere i 2015. Nasjonsrankingen utgjør grunnlag for utregning av hvor mange ryttere hvert land kan stille til start i Sykkel-VM.
