Skottlands kronregalier
Skottlands kronregalier (The ancient Honours of Scotland) består av en krone, et septer og et rikssverd. Kronjuvelene er siden 4. februar 1818 utstilt i Edinburgh Castle.
Kongekronen er fra 1540 og ble laget av John Mosman i Edinburgh. Gull fra en eldre krone ble benyttet til arbeidet.[1][2][3] Den er besatt med 44 edelstener, samt skotske ferskvannsperler. Kronen ble første gang benyttet ved kroningen av Jakob Vs dronning Maria av Guise i 1540.
Septeret ble gitt kong Jakob IV av Skottland i 1494. Det ble trolig gitt kongen av pave Alexander VI.[4] Det ble forlenget og omarbeidet i 1536.[5][6]
Sverdet er en gave til samme konge fra pave Julius II. Det ble gitt i 1508.[7][8]
