I november 2017 ble Aleksandr Legkov og Maksim Vylegzjanin diskvalifisert på grunn av doping, og Russland mistet sølvmedaljen.[2][3] Den 1. februar 2018 ble dette omgjort igjen slik at Russland beholdt sølvmedaljen etter at Russlands anke fikk medhold i Den internasjonale voldgiftsretten for sport.[4]
