This image of a heavily battered region of the lunar far side was taken during the Apollo 17 mapping metric sequence, revolution #62. The large crater to the right of center is Pirquet. The selenographic coordinates of this image are 20.10° S, 139° E.
This picture was produced by reducing a Hi-res image to 25% of full size, then rotating 90° counter-clockwise so that north is toward the top edge.
The NASA website hosts a large number of images from the Soviet/Russian space agency, and other non-American space agencies. These are not necessarily in the public domain.
The SOHO (ESA & NASA) joint project implies that all materials created by its probe are copyrighted and require permission for commercial non-educational use. [3]
