Douglas Morton Dunlop

Douglas Morton Dunlop (født 1909, død 1987) var en britisk historiker som arbeidet særlig med islamsk og eurasisk historie.

Dunlop studerte ved universitetene i Bonn og Oxford under historikeren Paul Eric Kahle (1875–1965). Hans verk var påvirket av forskere som Zeki Validi Togan, Mikhail Artamonov og George Vernadskij.[trenger referanse] På 1950-tallet og 1960-tallet var Dunlop professor i historie ved Columbia University i USA.
Han er best kjent for sitt verk om den arabiske sivilisasjon og om khazarene, et halvnomadisk tyrkisk folk fra Sentral-Asia mellom 700- og 1000-tallet. Han har også bidratt i stor grad som oversetter av arabisk litteratur, blant annet den islamske filosof og vitenskapsmann Al-Farabi (Abunaser) (870–950).
