Chuanqi (kinesisk opera)

Chuanqi (kinesisk: 传奇, pinyin: chuánqí EFEO: Ch'uan ch'i) er en tidlig for kinesisk opera. Den blomstret på Yuandynastiets tid.

Ved siden av teatersjangeren zaju, som stod sterkt i Nord-Kina, fantes i Sør-Kina var en annen form, Nanxi. Chuanqi utviklet seg fra disse formene, ikke minst fra den sistnevnte.^{[trenger referanse]}

En chuanqioppføring kunne strekke seg over flere titalls handlinger og forestillinger og vare i flere uker.^{[trenger referanse]}

Operaformen kunqu er en videreutvikling av chuanqi.^{[trenger referanse]}
