Austin bispedømme

Austin bispedømme (latin: Dioecesis Austiniensis) er et katolsk bispedømme i USA med bispesete i Austin i Texas.

Historie

Bispedømmet Austin ble grunnlagt 15. november 1947 av pave Pius XII med den apostoliske konstitusjon Ad animarum bonum, ut av territorielle avståelser fra erkebispedømmet San Antonio og bispedømmene Dallas og Galveston. Det ble suffragan under erkebispedømmet San Antonio. Den 16. oktober 1961 avga bispedømmet i Austin deler av sitt territorium for opprettelsen av bispedømmet San Angelo.

Bispedømmet Austin ble suffragan under erkebispedømmet Galveston-Houston den 29. desember 2004.

Bispedømmet Austin omfatter områdene Bastrop County, Bell County, Blanco County, Brazos County, Burleson County, Burnet County, Caldwell County, Coryell County, Falls County, Hamilton County, Hays County, Lampasas County, Lee County, Limestone County, Llano County, Mason County, McLennan County, Milam County, Mills County, Robertson County, San Saba County, Travis County, Washington County og Williamson County.
