Gun Owners of America
Gun Owners of America (GOA) er den nest største våpenrettighetsorganisasjon i USA.[1] GOA skiller seg fra den vesentlig større National Rifle Association of America (NRA) ved å være langt mindre villige til å inngå kompromisser. GOA har offentlig kritisert NRA for å ikke ivareta våpeneieres rettigheter godt nok, og for å være for ettergivende overfor motstanderne.

GOA har ofte vært i opposisjon til NRA i forhold til dets støtte og vurderinger av politikere og kandidater. For eksempel var GOA tydelig i sin motstand mot John McCains presidentkampanje i 2008, og beskrev hans holdninger til våpenrettigheter som "abysmal, wretched, and pathetic"[2], og har gitt ham karakteren F på områder knyttet til Second Amendment siden 2004, mens NRA, gjennom sin PAC (NRA-PVF) gav ham C+.[3]
GOA har blitt beskrevet av kongressrepresentant Ron Paul som "Den eneste "ingen kompromisser" våpenlobbyen i Washington". Dette sitatet fra Paul har hatt en prominent plass på nettsiden til GOA, og Paul var den eneste presidentkandidaten i valget i 2008 som fikk karakteren A+ av Gun Owners of America.[4]
