Флаг города Братска представляет собой прямоугольное полотнище с отношением ширины к длине 2:3, состоящее из трёх вертикальных полос: красного (у древка), голубого (посередине) и зелёного цветов, ширины которых соотносятся как 2:1:2; средняя полоса выщерблена, ограничена тонкими полосками белого цвета, каждая из которых в пределах средней полосы дублируется ещё одной такой же белой полоской; в центре полотнища — солнце жёлтого цвета (диаметром 0,43 ширины полотнища) с шестнадцатью сужающимися наружу чередующимися лучами: прямыми и пламенеющими.
