English transcr.: International Campaign for the Safeguarding of sites and monuments in the "Cultural Triangle". At the request of the Sri Lankan Government, UNESCO i staking part in a five-year programme to restore and protect the principal sites and monuments within a zone marked out by the ancient cultural capitals of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Kandy. Lion platform half-way up the rock. Much of the beast is gone, but the vast forepaws remain to indicate its colossal proportions.

A la demande du Gouvernement du Sri Lanka, l'UNESCO participe à un programme de cinq ans destiné à restaurer et à assurer la protection des principaux sites et monuments à l'intérieur d'une zone délimitée par les anciennes capitales culturelles d'Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa et Kandy. La plateforme du lion à mi-hauteur du rocher. Seules, restent les pattes avant de l'animal, montrant sa taille colossale.
