English: Chiang Ching-kuo in Gannan during the early 1940s. Chiang Ching-kuo was appointed as commissioner of Gannan Prefecture (贛南) between 1939 and 1945.
中文：1939年，蔣經國就任贛南行署專員，至1945年，步入而立之年的蔣經國在此大刀闊斧查禁煙賭娼、修明吏治、發展經濟，社會麵貌大為改觀，被譽為“中國戰時政治的一項奇跡”，史稱“贛南新政”。 從1940年起，蔣經國推行“周四接待日”，在專署院內設立“民眾問詢處”，並由專署貼出公告，公告上說：“無論什麼人有什麼冤屈苦情或者解決不了的重大問題，都可以來見蔣專員，有冤的伸冤，有屈的叫屈，政府一定給老百姓作主，公正處理。” 平時由專職秘書負責接待老百姓來訪，每周四則自己親自接待訪民，回答問題。據統計，1942年蔣經國共接待民眾1023人。

Works of Chinese origin that have entered the public domain in the U.S. due to certain circumstances (such as publication in noncompliance with U.S. copyright formalities) may have had their U.S. copyright restored under the Uruguay Round Agreements Act (URAA) if the work was under copyright in its country of origin on the date that the URAA took effect in that country. (For the People's Republic of China, the URAA took effect on January 1, 1996. For the Republic of China (ROC), the URAA took effect on January 1, 2002.[1])
