Beskrivelse

Beskrivelse
English: AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. This would be very scary if you were personally involved. You, dear friend, are looking at the abdomen of a female Andrena nivalis. In that abdomen is a female stylopid which looks a bit like an odd head sticking out from underneath a tergite...she has been living in said A. nivalis for a long time...feeding on its innards...and, the stylopid has just given birth, (likely killing her in the process) to all her little babies. Nature: So cruel. Picture by Wayne Boo.

Love for Other Things

It’s easy to love a deer But try to care about bugs and scrawny trees Love the puddle of lukewarm water From last week’s rain. Leave the mountains alone for now. Also the clear lakes surrounded by pines. People are lined up to admire them. Get close to the things that slide away in the dark. Be grateful even for the boredom That sometimes seems to involve the whole world. Think of the frost That will crack our bones eventually.
