Donald Gelling (født 5. juli 1938) var statsminister («Chief Minister») på Isle of Man fra 2004[1] til 2006, da han ble etterfulgt av Tony Brown.[2][3] Gelling hadde samme posisjon mellom 1996 og 2001.[4] Han har også vært øyas finansminister.[5]

Gelling er kommandør av Order of the British Empire.

Bakgrunn

Gelling var lærling i ingeniørfag mellom 1954 og 1959, og etter å ha tjenestegjort i Royal Air Force begynte han som selger av landbruksmaskiner og biler.[6] Gelling var daglig leder for dette selskapet fra 1969. Hans politiske karriere begynte umiddelbart etter militærtjenesten tok slutt i 1961 da han begynte som kommissær, en stilling han hadde i 25 år.

I likhet med de fleste politikere på Isle of Man, tilhørte ikke Gelling noe politisk parti. Han fungerte som minister for landbruk, fiskeri og skogbruk fra 1988 til 1989.
