Sportsgrener rediger
Verdenslekene 2022 inneholdt 30 offisielle sportsgrener med 54 disipliner, og inneholdt til sammen 206 øvelser.[2] Dette var første gang droneracing, kanomaraton, breaking, fistball for kvinner, kickboksing og parkour var med i Verdenslekene som offisielle sportsgrener. Softball og racquetball var også tilbake på programmet. Invitasjonssporter bestod av 17 øvelser, som duatlon,[3] flaggfotball,[4] rullestolrugby,[5] wushu (taolu)[6] og lacrosse for menn.[7] Lacrosse ble spilt som six-a-side.[8] Tallene i parentes viser antal medaljeøvelser i hver sportsgren.
