The Flaming Lips

The Flaming Lips er et alternativt rockeband fra USA. Bandet ble startet i Oklahoma City i 1983 og har gitt ut elleve album. I 1993 fikk de sin første hit, med sangen «She Don't Use Jelly». I 1997 ga de ut albumet Zaireeka, som hadde fire cd-er. Meningen var at man skulle spille de fire cd-ene på fire separate cd-spillere samtidig. Albumene The Soft Bulletin fra 1999 og Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots fra 2002 har gitt bandet mye bra kritikk og gode salgstall.

The Flaming Lips på Commons

I 2005 gjorde de en cover av Queens «Bohemian Rhapsody» til albumet Killer Queen: A Tribute to Queen.

I 2015 samarbeidet de med Miley Cyrus på albumet Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, som ble tilgjengelig via streaming. Albumet Oczy Mlody fra 2017 fikk lunken kritikk.[1]
