John Lindow
John Lindow (født 1946) er en amerikansk religionsforsker, folklorist og professor ved institutt for Studier i skandinavisk middelalder og folklore ved Berkerley-universitet i California. I 1972 oppnådde han en Ph.d. grad i germansk språk og litteratur fra Harvard, og i 1981 ble han ansatt i sin nåværende stilling på Berkeley.[2]

Lindows verker omfatter blant annet en håndbok i norrøn mytologi, Norse Mythology: A Guide to the Gods, Rituals, and Beliefs.[3] John Lindows hovedarbeidsområde er norrøn litteratur, med fokus på mytologi og poesi, skandinavisk folklore og legender, samt finsk-ugrisk folklore. Hans metodiske fokus ligger på fortolkning av tekst i sosial og historisk kontekst.[4]
