David Parlett

David Parlett (født 1939 i London) er en engelsk spillkonstruktør, spillforsker og spilleboksforfatter.

Han er en av de fremste autoriteter innenfor kortspillenes historie. Parlett er blant annet oppfinner av brettspilet hare og skilpadde og flere originale kortspill, blant andre 99. Han er forfatter av de to anerkjente spillhistoriene The Oxford Guide to Card Games og The Oxford History of Board Games samt The Penguin Encyclopedia of Card Games. Denne er i dag verdens mest komplette fortegnelse over og beskrivelse av kortspill. David Parlett har dessuten vært konsulent for kortspillsscener i tallrike britiske og amerikanske spillefilmer.

Han har en universitetsgrad i fransk og tysk fra universitetet i Aberystwyth i Wales og har i tillegg til sitt ludologiske forfatterskap også utgitt lærebøker i språk, samt en engelsk oversettelse av Carmina Burana.
