Charter Township of Canton, normalt omtalt som Canton, er et charter township (det vil si en by opprettet ved royal charter) i Wayne County i Michigan. Canton er en forstad til Detroit og ligger om lag 20 minutter øst for Ann Arbor. Ved en folketelling i 2000 hadde Canton 76 366 innbyggere. U.S. Census Bureaus estimat for 2006 beregnet befolkningstallet til 86 539.[2] Canton er et av Michigans hurtigst voksende steder. Basert på statistikker som Federal Bureau of Investigation har samlet inn var Canton USAs 20. tryggeste område med en befolkning på over 75 000 i 2003, 2004, 2005 og 2006.[3] Kriminalitetsstatistikken dekker seks kategorier: drap, voldtekt, ran, grov mishandling, innbrudd og biltyveri.
